COMMUNITY RUGBY UPDATE

Kia ora Community Leaders,

Apologies for the delay in providing some more advice.  We have been fielding a number of enquiries and are doing our best to gather the right information for our decision making bodies. 

Our respective committee leaders met today to discuss how Club and School Rugby proceeds from here.  Please see the following key messages:

1. Subject to MoH/ NZR guidelines, if games can be played on the 19^th & 26^th then Rugby should still go ahead
2. Competitions and grades to be adjusted in line with the C19 competition design principles- where possible complete the round robin, final or final series as time permits, finish on the 26^th September.
3. If players/ teams are unable to commit due to the challenging circumstances than they will not be in any way disadvantaged next year.  The Council of Clubs/ School delegates and NHRU staff will use this week to understand what this looks like across Clubs and Schools.

SENIOR RUGBY

Information including the time and venue for matches, will be determined as more information is received from the Government on the restrictions regarding the number of people who may gather at any one time. The competition formats will be updated and put on our website.

SECONDARY SCHOOL RUGBY

JUNIOR RUGBY

There is still no rugby training  during the current Level 2 rules in Auckland which limit gatherings to 10 people.  Following the next announcement (Mon 14^th) a decision will be made when, if at all, junior rugby may be able to go ahead again.

The next key date in terms of our decision making will be Monday’s government announcement to determine what we are able to do post Weds 16^th11.59pm.  We acknowledge that this has not been the easiest road home but we remain hopeful that we can finish the season “on the grass”.  We once again thank you for your understanding at this time.
