North Harbour Developing Rugby Coaches Course is a success

North HARBOUR Rugby ran a successful Developing Rugby Coaches course 15th, 16th, 17th, February. The DRC workshop is a level 2 New Zealand and World Rugby accredited course. Coaches who are looking for accreditation will now go back to their clubs and schools and plan their season with World Rugby Trainers and Educators mentoring and assessing them.

Twenty local Coaches participated in a weekend of learning in which they had presentations and interactions from Harbour Coach Development staff, M10 Cup Coach Kieran Keane, Blues Talent I.D. Manager Shane King, and Auckland Rugby Coach Development Sam McKenzie. Coaches also had the chance to coach each other which they did on a staggering 63 occasions throughout the weekend. Trainers and Educators feedback on each of the coaches practical’s which enabled a dynamic learning environment, and created progress in coach delivery. Congratulations to all of the Coaches below who attended.

“I learned so much from the course and to use your phrase, I had a couple of light bulb moments. I look forward to putting the "context" into more practice over the coming weeks and getting an assessment done.”
