Final Weekend of Community Rugby in North Harbour for 2017

The Senior club finals finished last weekend with the Presidents Grade Finals Day out at Massey RFC with our old boys giving it all for their last game of rugby for the 2017 season.  Secondary schools and the junior tournament finish local finals on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.  The secondary schools 1^st XV 1A final played out on QBE Stadium on Thursday 17 August with Rosmini coming from behind with a late converted try to tip-over their much fancied old foe Westlake with an 18-12 win after initially leading for much of the game – see College 1^st XV Reports. The 1C (Kristin 1^st XV won 15-10 over Northcote 1^st XV), 3^rd grade (Westlake 4^th XV won 32-7 over Albany Senior 1^st XV) and 7B finals ( Westlake Red beat Westlake Green 24-23) were played on Saturday 19 August.  The 1A plate final was won by Massey 32-8 over Whangarei BHS in the other big final. The secondary school grade semi-finals were completed 19 August and the A grade finals to be played on the magnificent hybrid pitches on QBES Stadium Oval on Saturday 26 August as follows:

1B - Westlake BHS 2nd XV vs Mahurangi College 1st - QBE Stadium Oval 2 at 12pm

2^nd Grade – Orewa College 2^nd XV vs Westlake BHS 3^rd XV - QBE Stadium Oval 1 at 10.45am

5^th A Grade – Rangitoto College 5^th vs Rosmini College 5^th - QBE Stadium Oval 2 at 10.45am

6^th A Grade – Westlake BHS 6A vs Orewa College 6^th - QBE Stadium Oval 2 at 9.30am

7^th A Grade – Mahurangi College 7^th vs Takapuna Grammar 7^th - QBE Stadium Oval 1 at 9.30am

B Grade finals are at the top seed school as follows:

1B 3^rd/4^th Playoff – Rosmini College 2^nd XV vs Kaipara 1^st XV – Rosmini 1 at 12pm

5B Final – Birkenhead 5^th vs Kaipara 5^th – Birkenhead 1 at 10.40am

6B Final – Westlake 6B vs Massey 6A – Westlake 1 at 10.40am

The Wider Auckland U70Kg Grade Semi-Finals are to be held 26 August as follows (Finals to be held 2 September in Auckland):

U70Kg A Grade Plate Semi’s – Rangitoto vs St Peters – Rangitoto 1 at 10.40am

The 2017 Junior Club Rugby Tournament finals are to be held Sunday 27 August at Takapuna RFC, Onewa Domain.  The teams have played seeding, quarters and semi’s over the last 6 weeks with finals in Championship and Plate as follows:

J1 Regional Championship – Northern Reds vs Central Sabres – Onewa 1 at 12pm
