North Harbour Rugby Union would like to congratulate Shaun Nixon who was appointed to the New Zealand Rugby Board at the most recent New Zealand Rugby Annual General Meeting.
Nixon says “although it was a challenging process I am very honoured and privileged to be appointed to the NZ Rugby Board by the Provincial Unions. I will be visible, attentive and responsive to concerns of the Unions around the country in all areas of the game.”
Gary Howarth, North Harbour Rugby Chairman says, “Shaun has done a fantastic job during his seven years on the North Harbour Rugby Board and we are very proud of what he has achieved. We know he will have a positive impact in his role as a NZR director nationally”.
As Nixon is now an NZR director he can no longer be on the North Harbour Board however he remains connected as their NZR appointed “buddy”. The North Harbour Board will deliberate on his replacement at the next Board meeting.
