Kaipara College beat Glenfield College 27-0 in the final at Helensville RFC on Monday evening.
It was a great game with neither team shying away from the big collisions. Both teams had a fair amount of the pill and it was a fairly even contest. The running lines, handling skill and physicality these girls showed was impressive. If these two sides are anything to go by our U18’s Rep side will be a talented bunch! This has been the same final for the last few years, however the gap between the top teams are closing with other teams in the competition this year. Rangitoto and Mahurangi have particularly had great seasons a are becoming strong contenders to push for the top in 2018 if they can maintain their programme. This year we also had to new additional teams to the competition with Orewa and Hobsonville Point entering a team bringing the total to 8. Congratulations to Kaipara College players, coaches and managers for all your hard work. We are looking forward to growing and building on such a quality season in 2017.
