NZR COMMUNITY RUGBY RETURN TO PLAY GUIDELINES

NZR COMMUNITY RUGBY RETURN TO PLAY GUIDELINES

Please see attached the NZR Community Rugby Return to Play guidelines which have been developed in conjunction with the PU Rugby Resilience working group.

Key points to be aware of are:

  • The document is current at 24 April and subject change should government or Sport NZ advice change. Sport NZ has advised that it intends to provide further  clarification on the implications of Level 2 for community sport next Friday 1st May.
  • The introduction of a minimum two week “pre-season” window from the commencement of Alert Level 1, before local competitions may commence.

We know that your communities are increasingly looking for advice on what rugby activity will be possible as we move down through Alert Levels. With the health and well-being of all our participants and their families our primary concern, the intent of this guideline is to give our community participants an indication of what they can expect in Level 2 and how to start preparing for that.

Also attached is an Alert Level 3 guideline for community rugby, which is based on the previously circulated guidelines for professional rugby but simplified for the community context.
