INTERNSHIP ORGANISATION DESCRIPTION:


Expressions of interest are being requested from enthusiastic individuals wanting to commit to an internship within the Performance Analysis department of North Harbour Rugby.

Working under the lead Performance Analyst the role will be responsible for delivering a broad scope of Performance Analysis services, to enhance coaching processes and support player monitoring and development whilst evolving the Performance Analysis programme.

Successful individuals will gain valuable experience working alongside rugby professionals and develop key competencies necessary for a career in professional sport.


ACTIVITIES / ROLE DESCRIPTION:


Interns will work alongside the lead Performance Analyst, as well as independently within community rugby and high performance programmes in a learning and development based context.

Individuals who demonstrate growth and a strong commitment to the internship will have further opportunities alongside the 2019 Mitre 10 Cup campaign, National Under 19’s, North Harbour B’s and Farah Palmer Cup. Interns can be expected to have involvement with the following work placement activities to ensure key competencies can be developed:


• Video Filming, Capturing and Coding Methodologies
• Presentation and Data Visualisation Tools
• Manipulation and Statistical Analysis of Data Sets to aid Performance Tracking
• Report Design and Dissemination Methods
• Online Database Platform Management


OTHER INFORMATION:


The opportunity is open to all individuals who can demonstrate they are reliable, committed and motivated to learn in a professional sporting environment. Candidates will ideally (but not necessarily) possess some knowledge of rugby as well as outstanding organisation and communication skills. The nature of the internship will involve commitment to the rugby calendar, which can be discussed upon application.
