Sevens Coaching Course

On Sunday October 11^th Harbour Rugby hosted 15 of our aspiring Sevens Rugby coaches for a NZ Rugby Sevens Coaching Course. This newly designed, accredited course has been developed to help coaches of the 7’s format of the game look at the principles of attack and defence from a purely 7’s perspective. Our Coach Development Officers facilitated the course with major presenters Darryl Suasua (NZ Rugby) and Geoff Alley (Harbour Men’s 7’s Coach) presenting over the course of the day.

Overall, the course was a success and the participants would have walked away with plenty of information, principles of play and specific styles of coaching for the 7’s game. In the coming months the Union will be running more coaching courses and we encourage those interested in keeping a close eye on the website and newsletter for more details.
