Last week, HarbOUR Schoolboy players were involved in the Blues Schools U18 and U17 camps.
Christian Lio Willie, Nathan Va’atausili, Grecian MacNamara Taele, Jack Heighton, Finlay Brewis, Leon Thambrian, Lotu Inisi, Fine Inisi, Mac Pisi, Vincent Tuitopo, Matiu Spooner, all spent 4 nights and 5 days living and breathing Rugby in an performance environment. Sam Hasler spent a day testing and working with the forwards in technical development. The players stayed at Mount Albert Grammar School and trained at the Blues High Performance centre with the Blues, Harbour, Northland, and Auckland Mite 10 cup coaches. They also rubbed shoulders with the Blues players who were in their final preparations for the match against the Warratahs.
The camp ended with two games against the Chiefs Schools @ Onewa Domain on Sunday. The Blues gained both wins. All of our Harbour Boys performed extremely well and have had a real taste of what it would be like to become a professional Rugby player.
On Friday the 15th - David Meki, Tamarau McGahan, Connor Leather, Blake Houghton, Harry Collard, Reegan Pukepuke, and Miracle Naititi all spent the day testing, getting information on Nutrition and Mental Skills. The players also worked with Provincial coaches on technical/tactical elements of the game.
Overall we have had great representation at the Blues development camps and the future looks bright for young talented players.
