The provisional team entries for Club of Origin are in and the clubs will be confirming their teams this Friday. To date we have 30 10-aside teams for the inaugural 2016 Club of Origin programme across the three grades of Under 17 Open Weight, Under 15 Open Weight and Under 15 Restricted (playing in 6th or 7th grade in 2016). The Club of Origin Programme will be run across three Sundays at venues to be advised – Sun 31 July, Sun 14 August and Sun 4 September. A great response from the clubs for their entries which is attributed to the enthusiasm of the coaches and managers out chasing up the players!
The purpose of the programme is to allow the clubs to maintain contact with their former junior players now playing in the secondary school grades and maintain a strong link so that when the players leave school they return to their Club of Origin to play senior club rugby in the Age Group grades.
