Developing Rugby Coaches Course 2014/2015

The Developing Rugby Coaches (DRC) course is a series of practical / technical Coaching Workshops split into modules, aimed at developing rugby knowledge and providing coaches with ‘best practice’ methods and how to apply that knowledge in the rugby coaching environment. This course is run in a series of modules throughout the year.

To obtain the FULL Level 2 Coaching Certificate (NZRU/IRB Accreditation), coaches will have to attend all of the scheduled evening modules along with the full day of practical coaching and will also be practically assessed by NHRU at your team’s training sessions. Coaches will also need to complete a Rugby Laws Test and complete a coaching log / diary showing 50 hours of practical planning and coaching.

The NZRU/IRB Level 2 DRC Course is aimed at: 

  • Club Coaches
  • Secondary School Coaches
  • Senior Club Coaches
  • Provincial Age-Grade Coaches
  • Coaches that are interested in upskilling themselves and looking at further development for their own coaching pathway

 

Developing Rugby Coaches:      

The course involves a series of practical workshops and modules developing both rugby knowledge and the application of that knowledge in the coaching environment.

  12. Counter Attack
  13. Kick Starts and Restarts
  14. Setpiece
  15. Growth and Development
  16. Mental Skills Training
  17. Physical Preparation Recommended for age-grade coaches

 

Dates:  2014: Wednesday 26th November and Wednesday 3rd December

             2015: Wednesday February 11th, Wednesday February 18th, Wednesday February 25th & Sunday March 1st
