Congratulations Takapuna (1st) and to North Shore (2nd) who both enjoy a well want rest this weekend whilst the Premier 1 competition hits knock-out time. Key match-ups this week see third place Massey (who are carrying a few injuries at present) take on Glenfield - a side that has shown a number of times that they are more than capable of getting up for the big teams / games.
The form guide may suggest a Massey win - especially at Moire - but the tea leaves are not suggesting anything straight forward on this one, with the home side really going to have to earn a date with Shore next week.
In the other battle for a semi, East Coast Bays will host a rerun of last weeks match over Northcote to determine who will reign supreme. East Coast Bays will have the confidence of their result 7 days ago and their form over the business end of the season. Northcote, who started the season with a hiss and a roar will have looked deep into themselves over the past few days to find that spark they had. Weather could be a factor in both games, with strong winds suggesting the good kickers may excert some additional influence on the result. ECB by a nose if I was a betting man.
Elsewhere Silverdale will take on Marist with Western playing Mahurangi in a game that could signal the end of an error for the Pioneers,
