Opportunity for an experienced ambitious coaching team to make their reputation.
The Mahurangi Rugby Club is situated on State Highway One, just north of Warkworth.
Since amalgamation and its move to North Harbour in 1986, the club has struggled to consistently realise its potential at Senior level but is now poised to do so as the motorway extension proceeds and the population expands.
The Council have recently developed the grounds extensively with three new sand based fields with full LED lighting. Parking areas have been expanded and sealed. The facilities are the envy of many visiting teams.
With the aid of funding from the Auckland Council and Foundation North, we have just completed Clubroom renovations with a new roof, the foundation was reinforced and downstairs changing rooms, showers and toilets being completely upgraded.
Our Junior Club has expanded rapidly over the last few years and this reflects both the development in the area and a hard working capable Junior Committee. We are now fielding 17 junior teams.
With Hockey Turf and Netball Courts recently completed on the site by the Council, these Clubs have become Associate members of the Rugby Club and also use the facilities.
With progress being made in all these areas, the Club is now targeting our Senior Rugby for development. Our Under 19 team winning the North Harbour Championship in 2014 shows how a strong Coaching/Management team can make a difference.
The opportunity now exists for an experienced coach and management team to make their reputation taking the senior club to its potential. Success here will lead to higher honours. The Club wishes to make an early appointment as part of our planning for 2018 and beyond, to ensure we have the pre-season programme in place and to assist with recruiting.
As a rapidly developing Club, we are now calling for expressions of interest for coaching and manager positions for our three Senior Teams for the 2018 season. This season we have had teams in the Premier 1, Premier 2 and an Under 85kg grades. We are also seeking coaches and a manager for our 7’s team. The 7’s season runs over October and November 2017.
