North Harbour Rugby Union is pleased to announce that Alan Linstrom has been appointed as North Harbour Rugby’s Vice President and Hannah Porter has been appointed to the Board.
North Harbour Rugby Chairman, Gerard van Tilborg said Alan was a strong candidate to fill the vacant position following this year’s Annual General Meeting. He says “Alan has been an influential figure in our community game for many years. He has a solid standing with our Clubs and is respected across the country”.
Linstrom says “I’m very honoured to take on the role of Vice President and would like to thank Board for nominating me. I realise that this position comes with a great deal of responsibility and will work hard to carry on what has been done by those who have served as Officers of the Union”.
North Harbour Rugby is also excited to announce that Hannah Porter will be joining the Board as a Club appointed Director through until 2021.
Porter has had a long and successful history with Rugby and Sports. Van Tilborg says “Hannah offers the Board a wide array of skills and experiences that we think are important as we look at the future of Rugby in the Province. She is a Rugby World Cup winner, has worked at NZR, Harbour Rugby; and importantly she is also actively involved in the community game with two young children playing at the North Shore Club.”
Porter, who is currently working as a Performance Team Leader at High Performance Sport New Zealand, said she is looking forward to the challenge “Rugby needs to keep evolving to maintain relevance with today’s generation. I have an interest in seeing what we more can be done to connect and engage with the youth of today.
