As announced at our Annual General Meeting last month by John Morgan, this is the last year of his tenure on the North Harbour Rugby Union Board, and at some point during the year he would need to hand over the role of Chairman of the Board to his successor. As we all know John has given nine years of outstanding service, eight of which have been as Chairman.
At last evenings Board meeting (the first since our AGM) the directors discussed the best way to transition into the future, and unanimously agreed that appointing Shaun Nixon to the position of Chairman (effective 1st May) is in the best interests of the organisation. John will continue to serve on the Board through until next year's AGM, and support Shaun in his new role as Chairman. In addition, it has been agreed that John will continue to represent North Harbour on the Blues Board.
