Premier 1 results 30 April. Northcote continue to impress..

Northcote again look like the team to be reckoned with following an exciting 21-19 result against East Coast Bays that has forced their way into the Top 4 at the end of Round 1. The game sea-sawed all day with neither side able to provide a knock-out blow – a real tough and physical battle.

The Willie Halaifonua was up for grabs as Takapuna hosted Massey in a top of the table clash. Massey made short work of it, racing out to an early lead and piling on the points in the second half to run out to a much needed confidence booster for the team from the west.

Glenfield will be delighted with their performance against an honest Mahurangi side, that have worked hard all season without a lot of reward.

North Shore enjoyed the sun on their backs and a fast hard track at Marist, running in plenty of tries as they consolidated their position at the top of the table and consigned Marist to a winless streak after Round 1

Silverdale showed their desperation as they battled to a high scoring win over Western. Western would have been equally desperate, and stayed in the battle for the 80, but ultimately were run over by a classy side that showed their depth.
