North Harbour Rugby is proud to announce we will be supporting the Tania Dalton Foundation (TDF) at the match against Hawkes Bay on Friday 29th September, in the charity round of the 2017 Mitre 10 Cup.
The team will honour Tania and the TDF by playing in a specially designed jersey for this game and these limited edition jerseys will be available for purchase in a live auction during the game.
Special TDF tickets will be sold in the Level 1 Lounge for $50 with 50% of the ticket price going to the foundation, and volunteer collectors from Kristin School will be in attendance to support this great cause. There will also be an opportunity to purchase the special 'limited edition' jersey either from the back of the player on the night or you can preorder from [email protected]/.
TDF
The Tania Dalton Foundation (TDF) exists to make a meaningful impact to young people in New Zealand. It has been established to help our youth, from all kinds of circumstances, to unlock their sporting talent and their best selves, for their sport and for themselves.
Our goal is ambitious; to engage with thousands of young New Zealanders via a range of TDF programmes, aimed to make a positive and measureable impact; to enable New Zealand’s youth to live their biggest life with sport as their guide - as Tania did.
TDF’s first programme is the ‘TDF Scholarship’, this provides financial support and personal skills development for young women aged 16-18 over three years. TDF aims to award the 12 scholarships later this year.
Tania Dalton
Tania Dalton will be remembered for an incredible sporting legacy, as one of New Zealand’s favourite sporting personalities. She was a natural, talented athlete who backed it up with guts and heart as a player and a team mate.
Even more than her sporting success, she will be remembered for how she lived every day. She lived as we might all strive for – never on the side line, always in the action, bringing her A-game as standard… with a big heart and an easy smile, sucking the juice out of life.
Tania and her family believe in the power of sport to teach young people how to be our best, and that the rules of the game help guide us on and off the court or the field.
