It was not a great weekend for North Harbour Rugby amateur representative teams but there some close calls and promising performances. The Mens B team were edged by Waikato 18-19 and the Mens B Development suffered a big loss to Auckland going down 22-55, both games at home at Windsor Park. The U19 team powered away to a big 48-15 win over Northland also at Windsor in their first seeding round game in the Blues division. The U85 representative team got off to a great start defeating their arch-rivals Auckland 20-14 away in their first fixture. The U85 will play Waikato, Counties and Auckland again in their schedule. The U18 team had the bye. The U16 and U14 all played away ar Cornwall Park on heavy pitches. The U16 Cardinal side lost 3-15 to the big Auckland Central side, the U16 White were defeated 7-31 by Auckland East, U14 Cardinal just lost to Auckland Central scoring 4 tries in a see-saw affair getting in front late in the game but Auckland came back at the death to win 29-30 and the U14 White team were defeated 0-29 by Auckland East. North Harbour U85 played away to Waikato just losing 19-22 and the U18 Girls had a close loss to Auckland East 22-26 by way of a late try. The North Harbour Hibiscus womens team scored a late try to defeat Auckland Thunder 36-31 in a development fixture and in a pre-season game against Northland the Roller Mills side came from behind with two tries to win 30-26.
