On Saturday 6th of August, Northcote Birkenhead Rugby Club is honoured to be hosting the Rugby World Cup (Webb Ellis Cup) and the New Zealand Parliamentary team at their home grounds.
The Cup will arrive and be on display on the field (Harvey Wright Fields) for viewing and photos from 2pm until it moves into the Club at 4.30pm for the after match function.
Come and watch the New Zealand Parliamentary team take on the mighty Northcote Presidents kicking off at 2.45pm. All are invited and welcome to come watch the veterans of both the NZ Parliament and Northcote Rugby Club play in this great special fixture, and get a photo with the prestigious Rugby World Cup.
On the day we’ll have our great Junior Tour Team food stall and the coffee guy so people can relax and have a great afternoon of veteran community rugby. The after match following includes raffles and a charity auction in the Club, this is to support the Northcote Birkenhead U13 Junior Tour Team travelling to Australia in October this year.
The Northcote President’s team manager Darrin Robertson said “the chance to promote and raise funds for the junior boys touring team has taken precedence over training and we are looking forward to a great day. Being veterans of the game with a wealth of experience and Super Rugby viewing time under our belts, we are looking forward to showing how the game should and shouldn’t be played against the Parliamentarian team.”
Look forward to seeing you down at the Cote this weekend, Recreation Drive, Birkenhead to watch the game and view the Webb Ellis Cup.
