2018 North Harbour Secondary Schools Grade Finals

The 2018 North Harbour Secondary Schools Grade Finals will be held at North Harbour Domain 1 and 2 at Marist NH RFC, on Saturday 25 August starting at 9.30am with 7^th and 6^th grades, Open C and 5^th grade finals at 10.45am with Open B final to be played at 12pm.  Open B will be contested by the same protagonists for several years, Mahurangi College 1^st XV and Westlake BHS 2^nd XV.  Unbeaten Mahurangi has had the better of their rival in 2018 and on 11 August both schools thumped their last round opponents by 50-60 points with quite a bit of daylight between them and third place to be the top dogs for the 1v2 final.  Open C final will be contested by unbeaten Long Bay College 1^st XV coached by former AB Craig Dowd and Whangaparaoa College 1^st XV who put away their semi-final opponents comfortably on 11 August, namely Hobsonville Point 1^st XV and Orewa College 2^nd XV, respectively. Takapuna and Rosmini will face each other in the 5A final having put away Massey A and Orewa respectively in the semi-finals last Saturday.  6A final will see unbeaten Westlake A play Orewa.  Orewa just edged Rosmini by a one point but Westlake were too good for Kaipara by a large margin in the semi-finals.  In the 7A final Rosmini take on Westlake Green.  Rosmini were just 4 points better than Kings  and Westlake comfortably beat  Mahurangi in the semi-finals. 

The Plate and B finals will be hosted by the top seed schools with Open C Plate contested by Massey 2^nd XV and Kristin, 5B final has Kaipara hosting Mahurangi, 6B finalists are Westlake B and Albany Barbarians and in the 7B final Orewa host Rangitoto.
