The Whangarei BHS 1st XV have headed south to North Harbour after having no Saturday competition to play in during the 2015 rugby season. They are looking forward to the opportunity to test themselves against quality opposition on a weekly basis.
The new coaching staff are under no illusions about the challenge for the team playing against talented, well drilled, well resourced teams with strong school histories in rugby. The team has only four of the 2015 squad back to play again but still has plenty of talent and determination. Players to watch out for include loose forwards Mitchell Reader, Hayden Sloper and Wiremu Greig. Scott Gregory leads an exciting backline and captains the team.
Whangarei Boys’ is excited about hosting each of the North Harbour sides in Whangarei for home games and hope that teams enjoy their trip north. There will plenty of folks watching to see how the Whangarei team measures up against them.
